FONTED…. turning buildings into words

Julie runs her unique word-art business from her home studio in Llandudno, North Wales. She travels across the UK photographing the public signage on hotels, pubs, shops and iconic buildings. As a result she has generated a vast image bank of letters in a variety of typographic styles, ranging from vintage and weathered to sleek and contemporary. The letters are original photographs of real letters on buildings.

On the reverse of each piece you'll find a certificate indicating exactly where each letter was photographed, and which building it belongs to. A busy award-winning wedding and child portraiture business in Birmingham during the 90’s, a change of pace relocating with her family to France in 2002 and since 2018, loving seaside life in North Wales!
