Chris Baker

Chris Baker was born in Manchester and has loved to draw since childhood but left school at 16 to work in local government, moving to North Wales in the early 1980’s. Chris began attending local college courses eventually gaining an Access for Higher Education certificate and later studied Graphic Design as a mature student and then gained a FdA in art and design.

Chris has had several solo exhibitions including Theatr Clwyd, Oriel Ger Y Fenai, the Rotunda Gallery, Llandudno and Oriel Scala and has shown in many group exhibitions throughout North Wales. Chris is a member of the Denbighshire Art Society, Art North Wales, Bay Gallery and a founder member/secretary of the former North Wales Artists Co-operative.

Chris’ artwork is influenced by the love of graphics and Pop Art which can be seen in both their colour gouache paintings and monochrome oil works.
